Lymphoepthelial cyst of submandibular region: a case report

Abstract Background The oral lymphoepithelial cyst (LEC) is a rare, soft-tissue, developmental cyst, initially presented by Gold in 1962 as “branchial cleft cyst”. It may occur the pancreas, tongue, neck, and other regions of cavity. No study has been reported Pakistan Karachi reporting case submandibular region. This rare LEC to help clinicians bring into their differential diagnosis for lesions affecting Case presentation We report 57 years old female Maxillofacial OPD tertiary care hospital with complaint swelling on right side neck 3 weeks which was rapidly increasing size. She having difficulty mastication. On extra-oral examination, there area. overlying skin normal no evidence pus discharge. palpation, soft, non-tender, non-fluctuant, non-displaceable Lymph nodes were impalpable. Excision lesion performed under general anesthesia biopsy revealed associated gland. Here we present an attention-grabbing region provisionally diagnosed malignant lymph node however later histopathologically Conclusion An unusual cause cysts. Submandibular gland appearance not usual can prove be clinical problem.
